Art Therapy provides an opportunity to use art media to express and process experiences and feelings in a trusting, empathetic and therapeutic relationship. Benefits can include reduced anxiety, enhancement of self-esteem, enhanced coping skills, increased mastery and confidence. The Art Therapist is a facilitator, observer, and participant in the therapeutic process. This involves guiding along a mutual journey between both client and therapist, exploring the meaning of the experience and of the artwork created within the encounter.

Credentials:

Bertha is an art therapist from Toronto, Ontario with a Masters level diploma from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute (2021)

Areas of Interest:

Bertha specializes in supporting the mental health of adults and is passionate about integrating nature into her sessions. Her graduate level thesis explored the intersections between art making, nature and psychotherapy practice.

Mollia is an art therapist from Toronto, Ontario with a completed bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and Psychology from York University (2020) and a Masters level diploma from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute (2023).

Areas of Interest:

Mollia has experience supporting adults faced with different life concerns including anxiety, depression, stress or pain management, grief, living with a terminal illness, identity or self-empowerment, and other mental health concerns.

Therapeutic Approach:

Mollia facilitates through a person-centred, humanistic, and mindfulness-based approach which focuses on the process of exploring life challenges without judgement and empowering the client’s innate strengths or ways of healing.
